South Korea beats Malaysia by 40 points in U-18 Women’s Basketball Asia Cup

The South Korea Under-18 Women’s National Basketball Team has defeated Malaysia in the FIBA Asia Cup.

South Korea, led by head coach Kang Byung-soo, defeated Malaysia 75-35, 40 points in the final Group A game of the 26th FIBA U-18 Women’s Asia Cup in Shenzhen, China on Saturday.

Korea competed in Group A against Chinese Taipei, Australia and Malaysia.

After defeating Chinese Taipei in the first round, Korea lost to Australia and then defeated Malaysia to secure third place in Group A with a 2-1 record.

The results of the matches between Australia (2 wins) and Chinese Taipei (1 win, 1 loss) will determine the final Group A standings.

The first-place team in each group will advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second-place team will face the third-place team from the other group.

Korea was led by Lee Ga-hyun (Sufia Girls’ High School) and Jeong Hyun (Sung Eui Girls’ High School), who both scored 12 points apiece.
