TEXAS ‘EMEGENCY’ CLOSER GARCIADO GARCIA INJURED AS RANGERS SEEK FIRST WS TITLE


The Texas Rangers’ quest for their first World Series title in franchise history has taken an unexpected turn for the worse. The Rangers have decided to replace injured slugger Adolis Garcia (30) and ace Max Scherzer (39) on the roster ahead of Game 4 of the MLB World Series (WS) at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, on Sunday.

Texas named outfielder Ezequiel Duran to replace Garcia and left-handed reliever Brock Burke to replace Scherzer on the World Series roster. Garcia was scratched from the lineup after complaining of side soreness following his eighth-inning at-bat in Game 3 the previous day .The Cuban native has been Texas’ go-to guy in baseball this fall.

In 15 games this postseason, he is batting .323 with eight home runs and a career-high 22 RBIs. His OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage) was a whopping 1.108. Garcia, who was named the American League Championship Series (ALCS) Most Valuable Player (MVP), was also a hero in Game 1 of the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, 슬롯게이밍 hitting a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 11th inning.
