‘PRACTICING SIX DAYS A WEEK CHUNG WINS TAYLOR MADE MID-AMATEUR


Mr. Chung, 57, has won the Taylor Made Mid-Amateur Championship. Mr. Chung shot a 2-under 70 in the final round of the third Taylor Made Mid-Amateur Championship at South Springs Country Club in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, on March 30 to win by one stroke over Mr. Han Jae-ik, Taylor Made announced today.

Chung, who works in construction and leasing in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, is a 25-year-old avid golfer who spends five or six days a week on the driving range. Last year, he finished 12th in the tournament, but won the trophy in just his second appearance. This year’s tournament featured 120 amateur masters who qualified through five rounds of qualifying.

Chung received a $10,000 grant to improve his game and a spot in next year’s Korea Bid Amateur Championship, organized by the Korea Golf Association. The first-place finishers, including Chung, also received a full set of TaylorMade Tour golf clubs and an initialed tour bag.
