Heo Woong 27 Points Professional Basketball KCC Advances to the Semifinals of the Cup Competition


Professional basketball team Busan KCC defeated Changwon LG and advanced to the semifinals of the KBL Cup.

KCC defeated LG 91-89 in the last game of Group B of the 2023 MG Saemaeul Geumgo KBL Cup group stage held at Wolmyeong Gymnasium in Gunsan on the 13th.

KCC, with two wins, ranked first in Group B and entered the semifinals, while LG (1 win, 1 loss) and Daegu Korea Gas Corporation (2 losses), which were in the same group, were eliminated.

Choi Jun-yong, who joined KCC as a free agent, scored 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Heo Woong led the attack with 27 points. 

In addition, foreign player Alize DeShawn Johnson performed well with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

For LG, Lee Kwan-hee played hard, scoring 21 points, but the shine was overshadowed by the team’s defeat.

The KBL Cup semifinal matchup has also been confirmed. 

Seoul SK, first place in Group C, and Ulsan Hyundai Mobis, first place in Group D, will face each other at 12:30 p.m. on the 14th, and KCC will compete with Suwon KT, first place in Group A, at 2:30 p.m. for the right to advance to the finals.

The cup finals are scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. on the 15th.
