During the ‘Hurray’ ceremony, we lost from behind… Korean roller men’s 3,000m disappointing silver medal by ‘0.01 second’


The Korean roller skating speed men’s team suffered a comeback defeat during the ‘ceremony’ in the 3,000m relay.

The national team, consisting of Choi In-ho, Choi Kwang-ho, and Jeong Cheol-won, led until the last lap in the finals of the competition held today (2nd) at the Qiantang Roller Sports Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, but allowed Taiwan to take the lead just before the finish line.

While the last runner, Jeong Cheol-won, had a premonition of victory and celebrated by raising his arms in front of the finish line, the Taiwanese runner did not give up until the end and stuck out his left foot and crossed the finish line before Jeong Cheol-won. Korea’s record was 4 minutes 5.702 seconds, just 0.01 seconds behind Taiwan’s 4 minutes 5.692 seconds.

The Korean players, who had mistakenly assumed they had won the game and held a Taegeukgi ceremony immediately after the game, were unable to hide their embarrassment after belatedly checking the official records.

The Korean players left the stadium in tears without responding to reporters’ requests for coverage in the common reporting area (mixed zone).  스포츠토토 After the awards ceremony, Jeong Cheol-won said, “My mistake was too big. I let my guard down and made the mistake of not riding until the end,” and expressed his apologies to his teammates and the people who supported him.
