Gangwon Yang Min-hyeok Selected as K-League Young Player of the Month for 3 Consecutive Months
High school striker Yang Min-hyeok of professional soccer K League 1 Gangwon FC has won the Young Player Award for three consecutive months, the first in the K League.
The Korea Professional Football League announced on the 9th that Yang Min-hyeok was selected as the winner of the K League’s ‘Seven Select Young Player of the Month’ for June.

The Young Player of the Month award is for K-League 1 players of Korean nationality who are 23 years of age or younger (born after 2001) and who made their first official K-League appearance within three years (debut after the 2022 season).
Among them, they must have played in more than half of their team’s total matches in that month to be eligible for the award.
The winner will be decided through discussion and voting by the Technical Research Group (TSG) members under the Technical Committee of the Professional Football League among the candidates.
A total of 13 people have been nominated for the June award, including Yang Min-hyeok, Hwang Jae-won (Daegu), and Kang Sang-yoon (Suwon FC).
Yang Min-hyeok was selected as the MVP (Man of the Match) in the 17th round match against Suwon FC and was named in the Best 11 for that round.
He, who played in all five games in June, scored one goal and one assist, earning the most votes from the TSG committee members.
Yang Min-hyeok is currently 18 years old and a third-year student at Gangneung Jeil High School.
He signed a semi-professional contract and made his K League 1 debut this season, and last month, he signed a professional contract just six months after joining.
