SSG announced the list of released players on Friday. SSG informed 10 players, five pitchers and five infielders, that they have no intention of re-signing.
The most prominent player is Ko Hyo-joon. He is a left-handed bullpen arm born in 1983. Despite his age, he has been a dominant closer until last season. He had a 4-1 record with 13 saves in 73 games last season. He was also a huge part of SSG’s success in the 2022 season when they won the title. After being released by the LG Twins after the 2021 season, he resurrected his career at SSG with a story that resonated with fans.
He also started the season as a must-win player, but injuries and the emergence of rookie Han Hoo-sol narrowed his role. This year, he only played 26 games and eventually hung up his SSG jersey in the name of generational change.
Park Min-ho is another disappointing resource.
The sidearm pitcher was drafted in the third round of the 2014 second round. He was on and off, 토토사이트 but finally tasted the pain of being released. He has a 2-2 record in 19 games this year. Seo Sang-joon, Lee Chan-hyuk, and Heo Min-hyuk have also fallen under the knife.
Among the beasts, Kang Jin-seong and Choi Kyung-mo are the most recognizable names. Kang Jin-seong is a long-hitting hitter who joined SSG from the NC Dinos. He was often in contention for the starting lineup, but was unable to create a clear edge and bounced between the first and second teams.
Choi Kyung-mo was a solid backup with good defense and baserunning, but was eventually pushed aside by the emergence of juniors with similar abilities. In addition, infielder Choi Yoo-bin and catchers Kim Ji-hyun and Jeon Jeon-won failed to re-sign.
