‘Yang comes off the bench’ as Celtic win 4-0 in league opener

Scottish professional soccer’s Celtic won its league opener 4-0 after striker Hyun-Jun Yang came on as a second-half substitute.

Celtic defeated Kilmarnock 4-0 at home in the first round of the 2024-2025 Premiership at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland, on Friday (Sept. 5).

Celtic, who are looking to win their fourth straight league title, set the bar high with a goal-fest in their first game of the season.

Yang entered the game in the 32nd minute for James Forrest and played around 13 minutes, but did not register an offensive point.

Kwon Hyuk-kyu, who scored the winning goal against Manchester City (England) in a pre-season friendly, was left out of the starting lineup.

The Celtic offense took the lead in the 17th minute when Leo Hatate won the ball in the left penalty area and slotted a low right-footed shot into the top corner.

In the 40th minute, Matt O’Reilly’s corner kick was headed into the opposite corner by Liam Scales from a high strike.

Celtic added a second goal 14 minutes into the second half when Nicolas Gerritt Quinn’s run and finish followed a great pass from Kyogo Furuhashi.

Furuhashi, who was positioned below the halfway line, whipped in a brilliant long pass to an onrushing Quinn down the right flank, who held onto the ball as he entered the penalty area, dribbled to the front of the goal and finished with a left-footed shot to split the sides.

Anthony Ralston then drove home the winner in stoppage time after Furuhashi’s shot was saved. 바카라사이트 추천
