Singer Lee Sun-hee received a summary order to pay a fine for charges of embezzlement related to her private company, One Entertainment.

Lee on Monday released an official statement expressing her thoughts on the results of an investigation by prosecutors.

“Forty years ago today, I first met you on the stage of the Riverside Song Festival with a trembling heart. As a singer, I have lived a life full of gratitude, receiving overwhelming love for a long time,” said said.

Previously, Lee was investigated by prosecutors for allegedly using One Entertainment’s corporate credit card for personal expenses from 2011 until June of last year.

Lee was referred to the prosecution without detention last year on charges of misappropriating company funds along with Kwon Jin-young, CEO of her agency Hook Entertainment.

“The investigators found no issues with the other allegations, but determined that some of the corporate card transactions from my private company, One Entertainment, between 2011 and 스포츠 2022, could not be substantiated as business expenses,” she said. “Consequently, a summary order for a fine was issued, which I humbly accepted with a reflective heart.”

Lee apologized, saying, “For the past 40 years, as a public figure and singer loved by many, I should have meticulously handled every matter without neglect. I deeply regret the things I overlooked, using ignorance as an excuse.”

She said that she had disappointed many of her fans. “From now on, I will strive to live without shame as a singer. I apologize once again for delivering such unfortunate news after a long time,” she said.
