Mbappe is leaving Paris Saint-Germain for trophies

Kylian Mbappe (26, PSG) is leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for trophies.

Kylian Mbappe posted a short video on his personal social media account on November 11th. In the post, Mbappe himself announced that he is leaving PSG at the end of the season.

Mbappe has been an iconic star for the French national team and PSG. He can play both wing forward and up front, and has everything you need in a player: tremendous speed, quickness, and a powerful shot.

Having scored a whopping 255 goals in 306 games for PSG, there were plenty of clubs who wanted Mbappe, especially Real Madrid. In 2022, Mbappe chose to stay at PSG, signing a new contract with the club despite Real’s offer.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG runs until June 2024, meaning he can leave the club as a free agent at the end of the current season.

Mbappe is free to discuss his future with other clubs. Under the Bosman Rule, a player who is six months away from the end of his contract is free to negotiate with other clubs and join a new team at the end of his contract.

After much transfer speculation, Mbappe himself spoke out.

“Hello everyone. This is Mbappe,” he said, addressing the fans directly.

“I have something I want to tell you, and I’ve always said that when the time comes, I will speak to you directly. I want to let everyone know that this is my last season at PSG,” Mbappe continued, before announcing his departure.

He added: “I will not extend my contract and our adventure ends in a few weeks. We will play our last game this weekend at the Parc des Princes (home),” he announced.

“Having had the opportunity and the great honor to be part of the top French club, one of the best in the world, I have experienced many emotions, many pressures, and have grown as a player with some of the best players in history, met many people, 안전놀이터 추천 experienced both glories and mistakes, and have grown as a person,” he continued.

Mbappe added: “I never thought it would be so difficult to leave my country, France. Ligue 1 is the league I’ve always known, but after seven years, I needed a new challenge.”

Mbappe added: “I would like to thank all the teammates I played with. I want to thank all the people I met, Unai Emery, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier, Luis Enrique, Leonardo and Luis Campos,” Mbappe said, naming the coaches and club management by name.

Another player has left his old club for a trophy.

While there are many players who have done so, Harry Kane is the one who has garnered the most attention in recent times.

Kane joined Tottenham Hotspur’s youth team in 2004 and made his professional debut in the 2011-2012 season. After loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall FC, Norwich City, and Leicester City, Kane made 34 league appearances (21 goals) for Tottenham in the 2014-2015 season, establishing himself as a regular starter.

Kane has been a mainstay for Spurs ever since. Kane scored 30 league goals last season, bringing his Premier League tally to 213, passing Wayne Rooney (208) for second place on the all-time Premier League goalscoring list.

Despite Kane’s success, Tottenham’s drought is getting longer. Despite Kane’s 30 league goals in the 2022-2023 season, Spurs failed to qualify for European competition, including the Champions League. As a result, Kane left the club he grew up with to join German giants Bayern Munich.

“I want to feel the pressure of winning, and it’s no secret that I don’t have a trophy in my career. But hopefully by the end of the season here I will have won one,” he said at the time of his move.

After several seasons of being one of the best strikers in the world, but without a trophy to show for it, Kane decided to take on a new challenge. Kane left Tottenham and his best partner Son Heung-min for Munich.

It didn’t work out.

Once again, Kane finished the season empty-handed. It”s not that he didn”t do his job. Kane scored 36 goals and provided eight assists in 32 league games and eight goals in the Champions League. Kane is the top scorer in both the league and the Champions League.

Mbappe has had no trouble winning the league. He has won the league title six times with PSG. However, conquering the European stage hasn’t been as easy. They reached the Champions League final in the 2019-2020 season, but were eliminated by Bayern Munich, and even with the addition of top-notch players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, they couldn’t come close to winning the title.

Mbappe’s next destination is likely to be Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have won the Champions League 14 times in their history. It will be interesting to see if Mbappe can conquer Europe with a new club.
