The Pohang Steelers have unveiled the uniforms that will accompany them on the Asian stage.

Pohang unveiled its jersey for the 2023-24 텍사스홀덤 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) on Wednesday.

Pohang’s ACL jerseys will feature the club’s traditional black and red stripe pattern. “Both the home and away jerseys feature a pattern that resembles the surface of a furnace,” said Pohang. “Within the pattern, we placed graphics commemorating the 50th anniversary of the club’s founding, giving it a simple yet luxurious feel.”

“While continuing the flow of this season’s league uniform design, we tried to make changes in the details, such as changing some materials and using different sewing lines,” he said, adding, “The biggest difference is the away uniform, which uses a retro cyan blue color.”

For the first time, Pohang applied the carbon-neutral master brand ‘Greenate’ of main sponsor POSCO to the ACL uniforms. “‘Greenate’ is a compound word that means to make green (-ate), and it reflects POSCO’s commitment to creating a green earth,” Pohang said.

Pohang will start the first online sale of ACL jerseys from 4 p.m. on the 1st to 4 p.m. on the 4th of next month. Only the ACL full marking will be available for the first online sale. Delivery will take place sequentially in the third week of September (around the 15th).

In-store sales will begin at the home game on the 16th, with the remainder available online on the 18th. The ACL home jerseys will also be available with league markings, but the ACL away jerseys will only have ACL markings.

Pohang, meanwhile, is in Group J of the ACL group stage. They will compete against last year’s Chinese Super League champions Wuhan FC, Urawa Reds, and Hanoi FC (Vietnam).
